Rabiot re-assessing his future at PSG

TRANSFER TALK

French newspaper Le Parisien report that PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot is unsure whether to renew his contract with the French club or push for a move elsewhere.

The paper suggests that Marquinhos, Marco Verratti and Adrien Rabiot all want to consider their position with the knowledge that they are wanted by clubs throughout Europe. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi wants to hand Rabiot the captaincy to keep him at the club.

Rabiot apparently wants to play at the highest level and feels PSG have gone backwards not forwards, thus is looking elsewhere. Manchester City are interested but their elimination from the Champions League doesn't suggest they are at the top and so that would have to count against us also. Whether Mauricio Pochettino can work his magic and convince him that the youthful Spurs side is going places we'll have to wait and see, but he fits the profile of player we are looking for.

Spurs fans may remember his mother Véronique is his agent and she met with PSG Director of Football  Patrick Kluivert, the former Dutch international. The result was that Rabiot will wait and see what new recruits PSG can attract before committing his future beyond 2019.
