Oduwa heading to Slovenia

TRANSFER TALK

Slovenian Champions Olimpija Ljubljana, who play in the Slovenian Prva Liga want to sign well thought of  Tottenham Hotspur youngster Nathan Oduwa.

They are working on a deal to sign Nigeria Under-23 international before the winter transfer window closes on February 15th. 20-year-old (21 in March) Oduwa played for the Tottenham Under-23 side against Liverpool on Sunday, but was unfortunately on the losing side.

He has just returned from a loan spell at Peterborough United. Last season he had spells at Glasgow Rangers and Colchester United.

Website Ekipa 24 claim the England Under-17, Under-18 and Under-20 international left winger will train with Olimpija Ljubljana at their training camp in Turkey.

There are plenty of Tottenham fans who feel he should be getting the chances Josh Onomah has been getting. Onomah has been uninspiring this season, while Oduwa has shone at Premier League 2 level, scoring 2 goals with a further 4 assists in 7 games.

  1. I saw him a couple of seasons ago (pre-season before last) and thought he was electric. Since then I'm less convinced. Certainly he has great skill and flair. I'm still to be convinced of his temperament though. We'll see if he can progress on loan as many others have. Can he give his all wherever he is as if he were playing for a cup-winner's medal? We'll see.
