Have Spurs made a late bid for Wilfried Zaha or not?

According to the Daily Star today, Erik Lamela is currently in Rome receiving treatment on a mystery injury, according to Tottenham he is training at Hotspur Way.

That is the basis for their story that we have made an actual bid of £23.9 million to Crystal Palace for 24-year-old (25 in November) winger Wilfried Zaha, currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations having switched allegiance from England to the Ivory Coast when he couldn't get in the England team.

In fact all they are doing is reporting what Spanish newspaper Marca are saying, who are in turn only reporting what the British press are saying but getting it slightly wrong. Tottenham are considering a bid it is claimed, which Chinese whispers and two language changes have altered the story to having bid for.

Brede Hangeland recently named him as one of the 11 laziest players he has worked with, that wouldn't go down too well with Pochettino if it were true would it.

  1. For that sort of money their must be a better player out there than Zaha. Lets aim a little higher than that if we really want to challenge for the title.
