Just like last year Tottenham Hotspur have gone off for a winter break in Barcelona. The next game is an FA Cup tie against Wycombe Wanderers and it gives Mauricio Pochettino the chance to take the players away from the cold to relax and recharge the minds.

There will still be training of course, but it will be training in different conditions and there will be time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We are sure to put out a second team for the Wycombe game, which, with the UEFA Europa League to come, is going to be needed rest for some players like Victor Wanyama.

Last yar the squad trained at the Olympic Stadium, where Espanyol played during Pochettino's three-year spell as coach between 2009 and 2012. They are doing so again this year and had their first session this morning.

The FA Cup tie given Alderweireld recovery time and Danny Rose recovery time too, he left the Etihad stadium in a leg brace. The injuries seem to be mounting up again.
