Kane and Alli

Harry Kane has joined Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe on three hat-tricks for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League era. The three goalscorers are joint top, but you would expect Kane to have the outright mantle soon.

Of the last 10 goals scored in the league, Harry Kane has netted 5 and Dele Alli has netted 5. The pair have struck a rich vein of form and Dele looks better in front of goal now than ge did earlier in the season. He had a goal disallowed for offside, quite rightly, but it was still an excellent finish with the outside of the right foot.

Kane has reached 60 goals faster than any other Spurs player, again in the Premier League era, the next best being Teddy Sheringham. Theiry Henry took 104 games to score 62 goals, Harry Kane has done it in 102.

Everything points to Kane being a special striker, and to think some of our forum dweller fans, who know better than Pochettino, thought he was a Championship player!

  1. I hate premier league stats. First class stats is what it's about for me. I don't know the stats but how long did it take Jimmy & Archy to notch up 60 goals , I hope Harry is infront of them two or Chivs and Gary. It's all time records that count , not the jumped up premier league. First class football is first lass football.
    Anyone got the stats ?

  2. Totally with you there Steve. PL stats have some relevance in saying during the last 20 years. I'm only 32 myself, but football didn't start in the '90s. For example you can't tell me spurs or liverpool haven't won the league, just because it was called D1 back then.

  3. Shearer was a really great striker. No question. Could he match his stats up against Greavesie though? I think he'd be left a way behind. Who could? Ever? In history?
