Gary Neville: Is Spurs squad strong enough?

Another ex-manchester United winner, Gary Neville, is unsure like his former teammate paul Scholes, that Tottenham can win the Premier League this season. he likes what is happening at the club and loves watching Spurs play.

“Tottenham are a joy to watch and the way they play the game under Mauricio Pochettino. What they are doing there is very good, the young players coming through, there’s a pathway there and a belief and an identity to the team.
“Can they win the league? The doubt I have is I’m not sure they are strong enough in depth and when the games kick in again, I’m just not sure they have enough, but actually I love watching them and wonder whether they’ve got a strong enough, robust enough spine to win the league and see it though to the end.”

That squad strength will be tested in the coming weeks with Jan Vertonghen believed to have a bad injury after turning his ankle stretching for a ball on Saturday lunchtime against WBA. Kevin Wimmer or Ben Davies will have to deputise if Mauricio Pochettino retains a back three. With the Europa League kicking in in a month Danny Rose may well have a lot of work to do.

To rest him means resting Ben Davies, although he hasn't had much football thanks to an injury of his own. Wimmer and Davies might have to do a bit of rotating. How will we handle that, we'll have to see, but it may well answer Neville's question and determine our season.
