European youngsters on the Spurs radar

TRANSFER TALK

European-youngsters-on-the-Spurs-radar

Just a few youngsters around Europe attracting a lot of interest, including our own. One who demonstrates the absurd price some clubs expect for their unproven talent. We continue to mo itor Europe's best up-and-coming talent and we try to sign them but face stif competition either from clubs with money or because the youngsters need first-team football right now.

Philipp Ochs
Philipp Ochs is a German who plays as a left winger for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga.
Born: April 17, 1997 (age 19), Wertheim am Main, Germany
Has played at all youth levels for Germany
Arsenal are talked about a lot in the German press about their tracking him, but as one of Europe's highly regarded youngsters, plenty are tracking him. He scored against England U-20 in October at Huddersfield, where we English came out on top.

Kylian Mbappé
Another left winger is Kylian Mbappé, who is a Frenchman playing for French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
Born: December 20, 1998 (age 18), Bondy, France
31 Aug 2016 - Manchester City have had a bid of £34.5million rejected for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.
Arsenal are said to be interested but then isn't everyone. Mbappé has also turned down a move to Real Madrid, preferring at this point to stay in his home country and when he moves wants to cost more the £58 million Manchester Uniter are paying for Anthony Martial.

Federico Dimarco
Federico Dimarco is an Italian who plays for Serie A club Empoli on loan from Internazionale as a left-back.
Born: November 10, 1997 (age 19), Milan, Italy
A tireless left-back with a thunderous shot. The 18-year-old scored the Italians match winner against England in the semi-final of the last U19 European Championships. In fact he scored two goals in that game.

Stefano Vecchi, Inter youth coach
"He has the makings of a great left-back: his natural proficiency in striking the ball means he is a perfect candidate for this role, especially in a back five. Provide him with adequate support and cover, and he offers a real threat for his team to take advantage of."

Paolo Vanoli, Italy U19 coach, after Dimarco's display against England
"He shows that physical qualities aren't the most important things – his technical qualities are what count. The difference between him and other players is how he manages the game."

Jean-Kévin Augustin
Jean-Kévin Augustin is a French striker we have taken a very keen interest in. He is currently on the books of Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain and was the subject of an offer from us, on more than one occasion I believe. He turned down a loan move to Tottenham to remain at PSG despite limited chances to play senior football.
Born: June 16, 1997 (age 19), Paris, France
Yet again we have been linked with him in the press this window. Get French Football News suggest Borussia Dortmund are preparing a move for him if they lose Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. They also confirm that we remain interested in the youngster, as have French newspaper L'Equipe who believe we will step up interest if PSG sign a backup striker to Edinson Cavani. It is thought PSG could loan him out in January.
