Tottenham have been chasing 22-year-old (23 in November) Portuguese winger Bruma, currently on the books of Turkish side Galatasaray.

Previously he has said he will not try and force a move despite making it quite plain he wants to leave for the Premier League. It is an opportunity for him to advance his career and step up to one of the five top-tier leagues.

Galatasaray want him to sign a new contract with a £34.02 million (€40m - AUS$57.63m - US$41.89m) which he is unwilling to do. There are now headlines suggesting he will try to force a move through, whether that be in January or the summer has not been revealed.

Galatasaray, as reported earlier, have lined up a replacement in 26-year-old (27 in November) PAOK (Thessaloniki, Greece) winger Garry Rodrigues who has also played for XerxesDZB (Rotterdam, Holland), Dordrecht (Holland), Levski Sofia (Bulgaria) and Elche (Alicante, Spain). He has already agreed to join Galatasaray.

Eric Dier has followed Bruma on Instagram and Bruma has liked a photo of him pleading to join Tottenham. It may not mean a lot but it certainly signals his thoughts and many will believe intentions.

While this window may be quiet and we may make a signing at the end of it, I think it is clear we are working behind the scenes to see if we can get a deal across the line. We do have Erik Lamela coming back from injury so he will seem like a new signing having been out so long.

Sunderland are said to be prepared to offer £10.21 million (€12m - AUS$17.29m - US$12.57m), while the Turkish press think we have offered £17.01 million (€20m - AUS$28.81m - US$20.95mm). Manchester United are also said to have an offer on the table, while Arsenal are reported as being interested in him.
