A revealing net spend table

The Premier League clubs net spending over the last five years reveals how Tottenham have been preparing for the building of the new stadium with a net spend of just 5.5 million. Yet still we finished third last year and we are third now, which rather indicates what a good manager we have at White Hart Lane and why we spent so long searching for him.

Manchester United spend £303 million and still keep finishing behind us, Liverpool have spent and have kept finishing behind us. Spending is all well and good, but you still need the right manager as Manchester United and Liverpool have consistently shown. Now both have decent managers that can make a difference.
