We are linked with him every window!

TRANSFER TALK

He may not be the first name on your lips but we seem to be linked with the now 30-year-old (31 next June) Keisuke Honda, every window.

The AC Milan attacking midfielder is once again being suggested as a Tottenham target, this time by Rome-based Italian national daily newspaper La Repubblica. The suggestion is that the Japanese international has fallen out of favour with the new coach Vincenzo Montella and that they are happy to let him leave in January. This season he has played just 80 minutes of football! Apart from one game where he was not in the squad, the rest of the time has been spent on the bench. he has only come on in 3 games, playing for 11 minutes, 7 minutes and 62 minutes.

He joined AC Milan on a free transfer from CSKA Moscow in January 2014 and he has never made his mark at the club, he probably should have moved a couple of years earlier. In October he was reported as criticizing the AC Milan fans for booing too much, not something that will have endeared him to them.

He is out of contract in the summer having never signed an extension to his original deal so to get any fee AC Milan must sell in January. The MLS and China are being mentioned as possible destinations as is a return home to Japan.
