Spanish daily newspaper Sport are reporting that Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Everton are all watching a Barcelona youngster, this time 18-year-old (19 next July) left-back Marc Cucurella.
The Barcelona youth teams we watch a lot and we have had many a discussion with the Spanish club over their youngsters, although few seem to end up at White Hart Lane. Now that we are mixing it with the top clubs, although not very successfully this time around in the UEFA Champions League, perhaps that will change.
Being a youngster the Spanish Under-18 international is on annual contracts and so his current deal expires on 30 June next year, which allows us to negotiate in January a potential summer deal. Barcelona want to offer him a new contract and have contacted his representatives to do so.
Convincing him his future lies away from Barcelona will not be easy, any player would want to try and make a success of it at Barcelona and Cucurella is expected to sign a new deal, but in football you never know.
