Spurs to miss out on Lookman

Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on 19-year-old (20 next October) Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman.

Spurs have scouted him on many occasions and made approaches to bring him to White Hart Lane but now a report in the Independent suggests Everton have agreed a deal worth a total of £11 million (€13.13m - AUS$18.59m - US$13.94m) to take him to Goodison Park.

He is a highly sought after striker with North London rivals Arsenal, as well as Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Celtic taking a very keen interest in his progress.

Ronald Koeman does not want to loan him back for the remainder of the season but Charlton insist this must be part of any January transfer deal, something that is becoming increasingly common with clubs from the Football League, quite understandably. They don't want to have to replace an important player mid-season.

The deal is said to be an initial £8 million (€9.55m - AUS$13.52m - US$10.14m) with a further £3 million (€3.58m - AUS$5.07m - US$3.80m) in performance related add-ons.
