Prostitutes used to entice clubs to buy Kondogbia

Geoffrey Kondogbia was a wanted man in the summer of 2013, then a Monaco player and Tottenham were just one of the clubs linked with a move for him. In the end he went to Inter Milan for €31 million (£25.95m at today's rates).

Mediapart have published an article about how investment fund football specialists Doyen Sports were coercing clubs to pay his release fee. They bought 50% of the players image rights in 2012, while it was still legal, the practice has now been outlawed bu FIFA.

The fiollowing summer, Portuguese businessman Nelio Lucas, boss of Doyen Sports, was in Miami and documents involved in the Football Leaks reveal that on 6th August 2013 he and Real Madrid President Florentino Perez were in Miami.

At this point Kondogbia was a Sevilla player with a €20 million release clause. Lucas threw a party in a 650 square metre luxury apartment with prostitutes, according to WhatsApp messages uncovered by the Football Leaks investigation.

Mediapart has just published a series of WhatsApp conversations between Lucas and one of his associates, a man named Arif Efendi.

“I’m in Miami. Yesterday was crazy. I brought out some presidents and even Florentino came. Very funny. He removed his tie and danced.”

Florentino Perez denies attending the party in Miami. As it was he went to Monaco and as we know on to Inter Milan. Now he is of interest to Chelsea and Liverpool our press report.
