Pochettino demands aggression

We have heard Mauricio Pochettino talk about the Spurs players not being aggressive enough in the last third. By that he means the enthusiasm, drive and energy that go into the urgency to try and score a goal were missing from our game. Against Swansea that urgency was there and the important point for me is that we tried to keep scoring even when we had the game won.

Former Southampton wide man Adam Lallana who is now at Liverpool and seems to have stepped up his game in an England shirt says that both Pochettino and Klopp demand it of players.

“I love intercepting and tackling as much as I do scoring. It’s a mentality thing, Pochettino and Klopp have both brought that aggression to my game, that bite. They make the hard work enjoyable and that’s what we’ve got in abundance on the pitch at the minute. Everyone wants to work hard on that pitch – that feeling that it hurts.”
