It's a compliment Spurs are watching our players

TRANSFER TALK

News comes from website All Nigeria Soccer that we want to sign 18-year-old (19 later this month) Blackpool midfielder Bright Osayi-Samuel in January. They report that we have already held talk with a representative for him.

Arsenal have also been watching him as have Championship sides Brighton & Hove Albion, Bristol City and Derby County.

We have been scouting the Nigerian born Englishman, who was brought up in Spain until he was 10, for a while now and Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer takes it as a compliment scouts are watching his players as he pointed out in August.

“My philosophy is simple – if people are coming to watch us, then it is a sign that we are doing something right and are helping players to progress. We have some good young players here and it does not surprise me.
“If there is a young player playing regular first-team football anywhere up or down the country, then the big boys have to do their job properly.
“Do I want to lose any of the players? No, but I realise we are in League Two, but there is no club that is not a selling club anymore and that includes some of the Premier League boys too.
“Manchester United sold Christiano Ronaldo, Spurs sold Gareth Bale. That is part and parcel of the business we are in. We just have to deal with it.”
