Should Spurs sign Berbatov? What do you think?

Should-Spurs-sign-Berbatov?

Now here is a question for Spurs fans everywhere, would you sign a 35-year-old (36 at the end of January) striker who has Premier League experience and is a free agent?

The man in question is of course, former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov. His agent, Emil Dantchev, feels he has another 18 months left in him and another 35-year-old, Zlatan Ibrahimović, isn't doing too badly in the Premier League is he.

"Dimitar feels he can play for at least another year and his priority would be to come back to England."

The former Bulgaria captain was released by Greek club PAOK Salonika in June. Would he be someone we could have to help Vincent Janssen develop his game?

It isn't just what you do on the field at his age but what you do off it, on the training ground as well. Michel Vorm appreciates that is part of his role, the same sort of role Berbatov could fill and his wages wouldn't be huge anymore.

He scored 94 goals in 227 Premier League games with a further 42 assists, that's the record of a top striker. For us, he scored 46 goals in 102 games with a further 24 assists and he won the League Cup with us. He had a direct hand in 70 goals in just 102 games, just the sort of experience our talented but inexperienced youngsters could learn from.

Perhaps he could be worth a punt as cover for the remainder of the season. What do you think?
