The injury to harry Kane has been a blessing in disguise. he has played so much football non-stop that his body and his mind needed a rest. he hasn't had a summer break for the last two summers and he has started the last two seasons looking fatigued.
Both Spurs and now England will have to be careful bringing him back to fitness, neither will want another injury occurring as is so often the case when a player is rushed back. Danny Inhs is out for the season after only having just come back from a long injury lay-off, Younes Kaboul struggled a few season back and Kyle Walker had an extended spell out.
Gareth Southgate spoke all the right words to the press, but the fact is always nagging that the country doesn't care about the clubs and their players.
“I think the first thing we have to do with Harry is check how he is. I think Spurs, maybe with Dele Alli missing as well, took a decision for what was a very big game for them. We have a big game ourselves and will have to see what level he’s at when he reports but it was great to see him back and scoring and with a smile on his face.”
