Some good news on the injury front at last

With the West Ham game looming on the horizon Tottenham have received some welcome news it seems.

Victor Wanyama was taken off against Liberia with what looked like an injury but reports in Kenya suggest it was a planned substitution and that he is not injured. Given that Spurs received no injuries during the last international break but had several players report back with problems, that is not all that reassuring until he has been assessed by the Tottenham medical staff. We will have to wait for Mauricio Pochettino to inform us.

Harry Kane managed 70 minutes against Arsenal and with just training since should now be fit to last the 90 minutes, although Pochettino did change the system which helped protect Kane from some of the workload normally done by the lone striker.

Mousa Dembele returned with a minor injury and the hip injury Christian Eriksen picked up is though not to keep him out of the match day squad. Danny Rose has been carrying a foot injury for a month, but with Ben Davies injured can't rest.

Dele Alli is touch and go after the injury he picked up in training and may well not be available for selection and Toby Alderweireld will not be returning to the heart of the defence either, where Eric Dier has been very ably deputising.

Erik Lamela has been missed, we have been lacking creativity around the box and he is a player able to see a pass. He tries to play passes through where others don't and add something to our attack. He has been missed more than people realise. Unfortunately, he is still on the injured list, not yet fit enough to play.
