Pochettino still tracking Sandro

TRANSFER TALK

The Daily Mirror are speculating that we haven't given up hope of signing Spanish forward Sandro and that we might even make an approach in January.

He left Barcelona on a free transfer on 7 July and moved to Malaga who have played him as a centre-forward, as opposed to anywhere across the front three as Barcelona used him. The 21-year-old (22 next July) has scored 5 LaLiga goals in 11 games with an additional assist. He has also made one substitute appearance and been named Man of the Match twice. He is scoring a goal every 192 minutes and has a direct hand in a goal every 159.83 minutes.

The versatility of being able to play across the front three and the fact he has been trained in possession based football makes him of interest to Mauricio Pochettino who continues to track his progress. he is averaging 3.1 shots per game, 1.8 from poutside the box, 1.1 from inside the penalty area and 0.2 from inside the six-yard box.

We saw against West Ham that another cross from Danny Rose in the first-half went across the six-yard box and even though we had two strikers playing nobody was anywhere near it.

Sandro's goals this season have come against (brackets are their opponennts LaLiga position at the time of the game) SD Eibar (7th), Athletic Bilbao (5th), CD Leganés plus an assist (11th), Atlético Madrid (5th) and Sporting Gijón (18th).
