Interest in Ndidi hotting up

TRANSFER TALK

There were plenty of reports in the summer that we were tracking and indeed might try to sign Nigerian youngster Wilfred Ndidi.

The right-footed Genk 19-year-old (20 in December) is a defensive midfielder first and foremost and a central defender or right-back as a secondary option. He has been capped 6 times by Nigeria and is also being watched by Chelsea, West Ham United, Watford, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United and WBA.

German side Hamburg have made a £10-million bid so the £8-million it is suggested Newcastle United are going to bid in January has little chance of success. It is reported that Genk would accept a January deal where he is leant back to them for the remainder of the season.
