Ferdinand reminds fans

Rio Ferdinand won many a trophy at Manchester United and knows what it takes to succeed at this game and how a club should be run on the footballing side as a result. he has praise for the way Tottenham are developing their youngsters.

“The young players in the academy [at Tottenham] will be licking their lips thinking ‘if I produce in this setup I’m gonna be given a chance.
“Then it’s up to them [to take that chance] and that’s a great thing to have at a football club.
“We had it at West Ham. I looked up and thought, you know what, I’ve got a chance, because they’ve promised and shown that they’re going to give you a chance.”

Ferdinand was speaking on BT Sport and his remarks also show that Tottenham is an attractive club to any aspiring youngster, unlike Chelsea or Manchester City where they won't get a look in. That gives us an advantage and a selling point in the transfer market.

It also reminds fans that you don't have to give a player a run to see if he can make the grade at a club, it is down to the player to perform immediately, just as Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Harry Kane have shown.
