Third best defence in Europe £25.5m

Third best defence in Europe £25.5m

Tottenham not only have one of the tightest defences in the Premier League, but one of the tightest in Europe too.

Of the top 5 leagues, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Premier League only Atletico Madrid (Spain) and Bayern Munich (Germany) have conceded fewer goals, 2 each.

Back in January Mauricio Pochettino told a Daily Telegraph reporter that the way the team work without the ball was a key component in having such a tight defence.

“The commitment, and the way that we work without the ball. We show a lot of fight, and we try to be desperate to recover the ball quickly, to pressure and to run. When we have the ball, we have a lot of opportunity to play. This is the key, I think.”
