The West Ham blame game

The West Ham blame game

Desperate to keep their fans inside the Olympic Stadium where they are so far from the football that anyone with less than 20/20 vision can't see the football, West ham United have asked the Police to be present.

The Police I believe have turned down West Ham's requests while Karren Brady wants to blame the stewards. It seems a section of West Ham fans now understand what they are stuck with for the next 99-years, football where you need binoculars to watch.

Apparently, anyone unhappy with their seat can move to another, is there nobody in a lot of seats then?
Having conned the taxpayer into getting a basically free stadium, the annual rent doesn't even cover the running costs, she now wants others to solve the problems she has created.

Apparently the stadium doesn't have an adequate radio system to host football matches, perhaps health and safety should shut it down before the NHS has to start dealing with eye complaints. The radio issue is well known to the stadium operators and West Ham should be stumping up the cash to play games there, not expecting everyone to pay for them.

"Until there is comprehensive radio coverage officers will not be routinely deployed within it. The stadium operators are responsible for the safety and comfort of their customers and staff. Peter Terry of the Metropolitan Police Service explained the problem, known about since 2014!

"This issue was highlighted to the stadium operators in October 2014 and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has been in negotiation with stadium operators regarding the provision of Airwave radio inside the stadium.

"During this time, the MPS had spoken to the stadium operators several times to highlight the consequences of not installing such a system. The MPS is not able to provide Special Policing Services at this time as it would normally, as there is no satisfactory radio system across the ground."

Incredible a spokeman for the stadium operators said they have decided on a radio system and the Police should have to pay for it, which is complete nonsense.

"We have fully co-operated and will facilitate any access they require to carry this out.
"The safety of the stadium is paramount and all safety plans are agreed in advance by the police and if there were any significant concerns the stadium would not be licensed.
"Saturday's match was a Category A, low-risk game and the police were based at the Park Headquarters throughout to monitor events at the stadium. They were deployed in the stadium when required, however the main pressure on the stewarding during the game was from infighting among the West Ham United fans."

To show further how West Ham conned the taxpayer, and we won't go back to Karren Brady's role in front of the House of Lords Select Committee again at this stage, documents were released last year that showed the taxpayer and not West Ham United would foot the bill for much of the matchday operating costs, including security. You can see now why West Ham's rent doesn't cover the running costs of the stadium, something West Ham revealed while Karren Brady was claiming she didn't know the running costs.

You'll remember in an attempt to get into Europe West Ham fans attacked the Manchester United team bus and the Premier League instructed manchester United they had to play the game when it should have been cancelled and sanctions imposed on West Ham. Basically, they got away with it.
