Spurs can emulate Atletico Madrid

Toby Alderweireld was the player chose to give his pre-game views along with Mauricio Pochettino and having played for Atletico Madrid who won LaLiga and came within a whisker of winning the Champions League, he sees no reason why Tottenham can not grow to those levels.
Like Pochettino he stressed that Spurs need to have the right mindset to achieve goals even some of our own fans don't think are possible.
“The hunger is there within the group, which is the most important thing. We have a young, talented squad who want to improve. We did well last season but we’re not satisfied with that.
“We want to do better this season and show what we have. We have a good mix of young players with guys who have more experience, so it is a strong combination.
“We have a squad with a number of good players so in every competition we can play a strong team. That is the mindset we need to have and it is good for Tottenham now.
“Every team can win the Champions League if they put their minds to it. If you have a good squad and the hunger is there to win something, you can do it.
“At Atletico, we were up against big teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich – they were always the favourites. But if you are a really good group – and, of course, we had quality too – you can win it.
“That’s the thing that stayed with me. If you are a good team and a good squad and your mind is on winning, you have a chance. That is what I learned the most.”
