Players signing new deals for a reason



Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane and youngsters like harry Winks have all signed deals to keep them at Spurs for the long-term, including Mauricio Pochettino himself.  Jan Vertonghen is yet to be announced.

Dane Christian Eriksen has lengthy contract negotiations but signed and always maintained there was nothing to worry about he was happy at Tottenham. There is a suggestion from inside the club though that some feel he may be on his way next summer. A year is a long time in football though and Juventus, a proposed destination have Axel Witsel lined up next summer on a free transfer.

The signing of Eriksen's contract resulted in an immediate upturn in his form, clearly it was affecting him because he was poor at the start of the season. Since signing though he has upped his game significantly with a Man of the Match display against Stoke City. He sees a bright future at the club and feels that explains why everyone is signing new deals.

“As a team we have a really bright future so a lot of players have signed new deals because we want to stay a part of it. There is something special to build on and I think that’s why everybody wants to sign.”
