Pearce praises Tottenham

Some will tell you that Gillingham didn't turn up but I will say that that Gillingham played how the Tottenham youngsters let them play. They didn't. The youngsters passed the ball around comfortably in the Tottenham style with a better technique than their League One opponents.

Cup games are all about dictating to your opponent, not giving them a sniff of an upset, then it becomes easy. Stuart Pearce felt it was a tough game for Gillingham and that Tottenham are in a very healthy position.
“Tottenham are in a very healthy situation at this moment in time. They have some wonderful young players, and the academy has been built over a few years.
“It was tough on Gillingham, but you get drawn against Spurs away… it’s a tough match.”
