12.572 miles 18 hours 13 minutes

South Korea coach Uli Stielike agreed to allow Son Hueng-min miss the last FIFA World Cup qualifier, but after his devastating form for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season he has recalled him to the national squad.

"If you look at his performances of late, you can see that Son is playing well. His confidence is high and he is having a positive influence on his team overall."

In the next international break they play a home game against Qatar on Thursday October 6 and an away game against Iran on Tuesday October 11.

He will have quite a bit of travelling to do, two games to play and then be returned to Tottenham where like Erik Lamela he may need rest, although our first game after the international break is on Saturday October 15 away to WBA at 3pm UK time.

London to Seoul, the South Korean capital, is a 10 hour 45 minute flight, 5.646 miles and a 30 mile ride from the airport. There is also an 8 hour time difference, they are 8 hours ahead of us. Son then has to play football and travel the 30 miles back to the airport.

Next is a further 4,092.7 mile flight, taking 14 hours and 5 minutes with one stop. He then has a 19 miles ground journey into Tehran which is 5 hours 30 minutes behind Seoul. He then plays another game and returns to London, presumably on Wednesday 12 October when British Airways has a flight at 07:35 in the morning.

The flight takes 6 hours 05 minutes and Tehran is 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of us meaning the plane lands at 11:10 after a 2,735.3 mile flight. he won't be back training until Thursday October 13.

Hardly a restful time for him having changed time zones 3 times, played 2 games, travelled 12,572 miles and been flying for 18 hours 13 minutes.

The life of an international footballer.
