Mauricio Pochettino says we have Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertongenhen, Kevin Wimmer, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Anton Walkes. He stated in Australia that we do not need a centre-back as we have enough cover in that area.

According to Sports Witness  we have Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertongenhen, Kevin Wimmer and no backup.

I know you have to try and justify a article but to suggest we might want to look at getting a centre-back next flies in the face of the manager himself, such things annoy me. The departure of Fazio to Roma doesn't make a jot of difference, he wasn't a part of match day squads anyway.

The story suggests we were after 24-year-old (25 in November) Bartolomeu Jacinto Quissanga, a centre-back, defensive midfielder from Russian side Rostov, at the beginning of the window, which probably means May and not July when it actually opened.

Having signed Victor Wanyama and stated we have enough cover at centre-back, plus the fact that Cameron Carter-Vickers was on the bench against Everton. that really ought to be enough clues that we looked and rejected signing him now. The piece starts by telling us an arrival could be on the cards and ends by telling us we rejected the guy months ago! Nuts.
