Stambouli, Everton, West Ham, Sissoko

TRANSFER TALK

Real Betis are in talks with 25-year-old (26 on Saturday) former Tottenham defensive midfielder Benjamin Stambouli over a move to Spain from PSG. Real Betis have offered £5.98-million  (€7m  - AUS$10.15m - US$7.80m) while PSG want £7.69-million  (€9m  - AUS$13.04m - US$10.03m) for him.

We sold him for £6-million having bought him for £4.7-million. He is a home grown player for PSG and did play 27 Ligue 1 games for them last season, 1,502 minutes and 39 games in all competitions totalling 2,314 minutes so he isn't struggling for game time as some are portraying.

Everton and West Ham United have made offers for 24-year-old (25 next May) Lyon winger Rachid Ghexxal. The Algerian international plays on the left and is the subject of £8-million (€9.36m  - AUS$13.55m - US$10.42m) bids according to L'Equipe.

His contract runs out at the end of the year and he has turned down several contract offers being unable to negotiate the kind of deal he wants. Lyon will be holding further discussions with him this week to try and agree a deal, the suggestion being that he wants to stay at Lyon. If they also prove fruitless then he'll be put on the market.

Juventus want to sign 27-year-old (28 in 6 days time) Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko to replace the now departed Manchester United player Paul Pogba, not Nabil Bentaleb as has been fancifully suggested. Juventus have been watching the Algerian's situation but not as a Pogba replacement.

The Geordies have placed a £35-million (€40.97m  - AUS$59.34m - US$45.60m) price tag on their midfielder, which Juventus will no doubt want to reduce. The Championship or the Serie A Champions for the last 5 seasons, choices, difficult choices.
