Spurs, Barcelona and Munir nearing exit

TRANSFER TALK

Barcelona have three strikers, Messi, Neymar and Suarez and behind them Barcelona have a fourth striker who can cover several positions and get game time in cups. They have been searching fir a new fourth striker and whether they sign someone or not will impact on the future of Munir.

Thy wanted 29-year-old (30 in Octobber) Nolito, but refesed to pay the asking price (now moved to Manchester City) and wanted promising 22-year-old (23 in December) Argentinian Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid, but he has gone on loan to Sevilla for the season.

Their next target is 22-year-old (23 later this month) Paco Alcacer, currently at Valencia. If he arrives then that could spell the end for Munir at Barcelona and that may help Spurs negotiate a transfer without the dreaded buyback clause.

Valencia-are very open with their local press, directors talk to and feed information to them all the time, just as they did over the Soldado sale I extensively covered. Superdeporte is one such local paper and they say Paco Alcacer is closer than ever to joining Barcelona. There have been secret negotiations taking place they say between Josep Maria Bartomeu (Barcelona President) and Peter Lim (Valencia owner, 70.4% of the shares).

The main Spanish media expect the deal to be finalised so if we are serious about Munir we will still be in negotiations with Barcelona ourselves with a week to go before the summer transfer window closes.
