New stadium - Different Photos

Different views of the construction reveal different things and these two really give the feeling the stadium is well on its way. For many it is when they start seeing work above ground they get a sense of moving forward, for others it is the site of a stand or the players tunnel.

I, like many non-construction folk, see above the ground work as something we can relate to. It is something tangible instead of invisible and you start to feel it getting close. We have waited a long time for this. It is not just a new stadium with increased capacity, it is an opportunity to build our commercial income and start to compete on a more equal footing.

Retention of Champions League football is also key to that as that will help drive our revenue up. The stadium helps but it is just one aspect of a bigger picture.

The aerial shot of 20 July nicely shows Lillywhite House to the right and how close the new stadium will come. You can make out the outline shape and clearly see the corner of the old stadium removed which, as the ground no longer conforms to UEFA regulations, has meant we have to play UEFA Champion League games at Wembley.
