Martin Jol resigns



Former Tottenham boss, well liked by the White Hart Lane faithful, has resigned as boss of Egyptian giants Al Ahly. The 60-year-old Dutchman had only been there six months but results were not as hoped. having said that they won the Egyptian title last season and lost in the Cup Final to their arch rivals.

Once they were eliminated from the CAF Champions League at the group stage they both parties decided it was time for a new direction. A statement was posted on their website announcing his resignation.

"Ahly have amicably terminated the contract of Martin Jol at his request. He will be replaced in the interim by his assistant Ossama Orabi."
