Hull boss won't rule out £8m Mason agreement

TRANSFER TALK

Hull City boss Mike POhelan admitted that Hull City has agreed a number of deals with clubs and with players and wouldn't rule out that Ryan Mason was one of them. It is thought that the two clubs have agreed an £8-million (€9.36m - AUS$13.78m - US$10.57m) fee and now it is a question of finally convincing Mason, who loves Spurs and would rather stay.

Playing each week though, has it's appeal and Hull do have several former Spurs players in their ranks, Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore and Michael Dawson so it would feel like home from home should the move go ahead.

Players have trained during the summer and all understand where they stand in the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino. The likes of Nacer Chadli, who will warm the bench a lot this season if he stays, Tom Carroll and Ryan Mason are all set for limited game time as Poch develops talented youngsters and rotates the squad rather than having a first and second team.

Rose and Walker rotated with Davies and Trippier, Dembele, Bier and Wanyama may see more rotation while Kane and Janssen can share the workload up front.

Mason is a player who gives you 100% effort and he has played his part in lifting the club for which he deserves his just share of congratulations and support. He is not the hopeless player some idiots suggests. Can we do better, of course we can, he has weaknesses, especially his finishing, but he has rarely let us down and was a first choice midfielder at the start of last season.

We have progressed, it is a question of whether he wants to play regular football and the decision is entirely up to him. Mason isn't being forced out by Spurs and other clubs are interested, the latest being Sunderland.
