Transfer Talk - Liverpool, Crystal Palace

According to Sky Sports Christian Benteke wants to stay at Liverpool. His agent, Kismet Eris,  has denied reports linking him with other clubs. In football though you can't believe a word anyone says to the press, according to AZ Alkmaar Tottenham hadn't come back to them, yet Janssen was saying goobye and clearing out his locker at the same time.

Liverpool of course don't want Christian Benteke, who has been a flop since his strange £32.5-million (€38.55m - AUS$56.01m - US$42.72m) move from Aston Villa. Goodness knows why a team who don't cross a ball decided to buy a striker who relies on crosses, according to all who have coached him. Presumably they overestimation of his technical skills meant they though they could turn him into an all round striker. Sadly not fellas. It was a move destined for failure and such a season came as no surprise.

In other reports the 25-year-old has accepted the terms on offer from Crystal Palace, namely a five-year contract on £150,000-a-week. The clubs have agreed a £27.5-million (€32.62m - AUS$47.37m - US$36.15m) deal. It looks to be a good signing for Palace who play a brand of football that will be more suited to his style. Palace have recently bought former Tottenham winger Andros Townsend to supply him and have Yannick Bolasie, whom we have been linked with previously.
