TRANSFER TALK

Sonupe, Arsenal, West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur released 20-year-old youth-team attacking midfielder Emmanuel Sonupe at the end of the season and he is searching for a new club. At the moment he is having a trial at League One club Charlton Athletic and is hoping to impress new coach Russell Slade.

Sonupe played the first forty five minutes of a 4-1 victory over Kent side Welling United in a pre-season friendly at Park View Road on Saturday.

Arsenal are being linked with a move for 29-year-old attacking midfielder Arda Turan, who hasn't been a success after he was signed by Barcelona during their transfer embargo. They are not alone in their interest, German side Borussia Dortmund are watching his situation and Turkish side Fenerbahce would like to bring the Turkish international back home, as would Galatasaray.

Barcelona are reported to want £25.6-million (€30m - AUS$43.79m - US$33.15m) for the midfielder who doesn't want to leave the Spanish champions.

Leicester City defensive midfielder N'Golo Kante and has done his career no harm with his performances for FRance at the European Championships. While the Foxes might not want to lose him there are plenty of clubs courting him, the latest from China. The Chinese are throwing money at players thanks to state backing and plenty have been tempted by the money on offer, I'm surprised Emmanuel Adebayor isn't out there touting himself around.

Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG, managed by Sven Goran-Eriksson, want to splash out £35-million (€41.02m - AUS$59.87m - US$45.32m) on him, but at 25, unless money is his motivating factor, he is hardly lightly to end his international career by moving out there when the is a Champions league to play in. He has been linked with Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG this summer, but Claudio Ranieri is still hoping to convince him to stick around for another season and help them in the Champions League.

West Ham United directors are meeting with the representatives of 29-year-old Carlos Bacca on Tuesday to offer him a contract worth in the region of £60,000-a-week, the same as he earns at AC Milan, however the strikers representative go into the meeting wanting a salary of £120,000-a-week to come to the cash rich Premier League. That would make the Colombian forward their joint top earner along with Frenchman Dimitri Payet.

The Hammers have reportedly turned down the chance to sign 32-year-old (33 in August) former Dutch international Robin van Persie who is looking for £100,000-a-week. Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough remain linked although Palace are heavily chasing Belgian Christian Benteke from Liverpool.
