Premier League interest in Nani and Robin van Persie

Stoke City - Mark Hughes is certainly trying to upgrade Stoke City and is linked with a tremendous number of players, most of which come to nothing, but if you don't try you don't get. Former Manchester United winger Nani has agreed to join Valencia who are prepared to pay his release clause from Fenerbahce. That hasn't deterred Stoke City from throwing their hat into the ring.

Assistant boss Mark Bowen hoped the lure of the Premier League might persuade the 29-year-old Portuguese winger from going to LaLiga where he would have a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

"I know there is an interest there. Valencia are a big club but it is the draw of the Premier League, He is player that Mark Hughes admires a lot and he has had a very good tournament. Without giving too much away, there is an interest there and let's see what happens.
"In my opinion, he left the Premier League far too early. He had his time at Manchester United and had been a big player for them and he seemed to drift away rather than step into another club in the Premier League."

Crystal Palace - Everyone is in the market for strikers this window and Crystal Palace are the latst club to show an interest in 32-year-old Fenerbahce striker and former Premier League star Robin van Persie. The news follows stories of interest from West Ham United, time will tell if there is anything in it, Palace do seem to have a few irons in the fire.

There are reports that his agent is in Istanbul to agree a contract termination with the club to which Fenerbahce have issued a statement and called it pure lies. Fenerbahce President Aziz Yıldırım told Turkish media last week that they were open to selling Robin van Persie this summer if any clubs were interested. That has caused all the speculation.

“A number of websites write that the agent of Van Persie is in Istanbul to discuss the termination of the cooperation. These claims are pure lies. His agent is not in Istanbul, and also no talks are entered into. So the rumors are wrong.”

That's pretty clear.
