New bid secures Janssen?

French newspaper L'Equipe are suggesting that Vincent Janssen has turned down PSG, telling the personally that he wants to join Tottenham, which could well be journalistic interpretation from his comments to the Dutch media.

The fact that they say PSG are moving onto Alexandre Lacazette, who plays in a different position rather suggests journalistic invention. L'Equipe try to say agreement had virtually been agred between the French champions and AZ Alkmaar, yet the Dutch side suggested they had received no bids form PSG and the impression given was that they had no heard from them at all.

There is a suggestion that Spurs have now made a £16.39-million (€19.5m - AUS$29.15m - US$21.71m) although the French paper was suggesting that AZ Alkmaar and Tottenham would reach agreement in the next week, as opposed to AZ accepting a new offer. Has a new bid been made, there is no evidence to suggest one has.

There is certainly one thing that is clear, Janssen has chosen Tottenham. He wants to leave and a deal will be completed for around half the Michy Batshuayi fee, for a player who is the first-choice Dutch striker. Janssen didn't play in the AZ Alkmaar exhibition match even though he has begun training so that would suggest he doesn't want, or the club don't want him to get injured and put a move in jeopardy.

He will want to be at his new club to undergo pre-season training so fingers crossed a deal is completed this week.
