TRANSFER TALK

Transfer Headlines

Liverpool - The clubs owners have approached Jurgen Klopp about a contract extension unsurprisingly. They have at last found a decent manager, unfortunately for us as it will make next season probably the hardest the Premier League has seen. Manchester United will improve, Chelsea will improve, Manchester City will improve, Liverpool will improve. PSG want to initiate talks with club about taking over at the French side.

Valencia - As reported on a couple of occasions, 29-year-old Portuguese winger Nani has now signed for Spanish side Valencia, which rather shows yesterdays talk of Stoke City in the press was rather way off target. Our papers write for the gullible who don't take any notice of the transfer market abroad and they fall for it time and time again. He has signed a three-year deal after Valencia activated his release clause.

West Ham United - The Hammers have made a decent signing, they have tied down to 26-year-old left-back Aaron Cresswell for another year, until 2021. Bilic has recruited 26-year-old defensive midfielder Havard Nordtveit and 26-year-old highly-rated winger Sofiane Feghouli, who was courted by many clubs around Europe ahead of the new season.

The Hammers have also failed in an attempt  to bring Carlos Tevez back to West Ham. He left Juvntus to return to his homeland to end his career having earned his money in Europe. He was never likely to return and the £250,000-a-week wage demand did its job in sending The Hammers packing.

Slaven Bilic says he isn't becoming desperate to find a striker and that those at the club are good enough, which if that were the case then he wouldn't be looking at virtually any available striker.

As reported previously they have agreed a deal to sign winger Gokhan Tore from Besiktas on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Sunderland - There are differing stories between the Italian press and the British press about Sunderland's pursuit of 31-year-old Torino forward Emanuele Giaccherini. According to La Stampa Torino and Sunderland have already held talks and are due to meet again. The Italians seem to think a move may be fairly imminent and the British press feel Giaccherini hasn't yet made his mind up about a move.
