Transfer Headlines

Crystal Palace - Having signed a supplier in Andros Townsend, Crystal Palace are now looking for a finisher and have tabled a £25-million (€29.79m - AUS$44.26m - US$31.18m) bid for Liverpool flop Christian Benteke. Liverpool want £30-million (€35.75m - AUS$53.11m - US$39.82m) having vastly overpaid for him when they bought him from Aston Villa to put him in a side and system that didn't suit him.

It seemed a crazy and inept piece of transfer dealing at the time with former Liverpool players lining up to question how on earth he was going to fit into a team who didn't cross the ball. That shouldn't be an issue at Crystal Palace and he could help firmly establish them as a mid-table club.

Liverpool - Liverpool have submitted a bid themselves, £11-million (€13.11m - AUS$19.47m - US$14.6m) for 26-year-old Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko who also interests Bundesliga side Hamburg and Seris A side AC Milan. The Frenchman may prefer to stay in the Premier League. On his day he can be a tough opponent, according to Newcastle fans he doesn't have enough of those days. Perhaps Klopp can sort out his motivation and thus mentality to get him performing consistently.

Hull City - Tottenham fans will get to see Tom Huddlestone again, a player who seems happy to coast throughna career without too much effort. He has just signed a new two-year deal with the newly promited side. It's been quite a while coming but I've been on holiday for a lot of the summer and now we've done it and I can look forward to getting started at training on Monday."

Arsenal - French international centre-back Laurent Koscielny is negotiating a contract extension with the Gunners with bayern Munich throwing their hat into the ring for the 30-year-old's services. Perhaps this is a rumour to put pressure on Arsenal for a better deal?
