WEST HAM - Former Inter president Massimo Moratti has urged the Serie A club's new Chinese owners to use part of their £118.02-million (€142m - AUS$213.46m - US$157.01m) cash injection on buying West Ham United midfielder Dmitri Payet.

MANCHESTER CITY - Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Roma are nearing completion of a £2.49m (€3m - AUS$4.51m - US$3.32m) deal for Pablo Zabaleta from Manchester City.

NEWCASTLE AND VILLA - The Express and The Star report that Newcastle United and Aston Villa are in competition to sign 29-year-old striker Ross McCormack from Fulham rated at around £12m (€14.44m - AUS$21.71m - US$16m) by Fulham.

 SWANSEA CITY - Marseille are reportedly interested in signing 30-year-old Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis this summer, according to the South Wales Evening Post. Marseille need to cut costs and are maintaining their pay cap so the Frenchman would have to really want to return to France as ne may have to take a pay cut.

CELTIC - The Scottish side have signed the Fulham forward Moussa Dembele, Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Celtic boss. The 19-year-old has completing his move to the Scottish champions who will have to pay around £500,000 in training compensation with his former side with PSG receiving half the total. It sounds a very strange move, but clearly he feels playing each week will aid his development rather than sitting on a bench and training. Undoubtedly we will continue to track his progress.

LEICESTER CITY - According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Leicester City have finally reached an agreement with Nice for the signature of defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy, with £13.25m (€16m - AUS$24.02m - US$17.67m) quoted.
