Transfer Headlines

BORUSSIA DORTMUND eye Karim Bellarabi to replace Henrykh Mkhitaryan who it seems is certain to join Manchester United. Bayer Leverkusen rejected the Dortmund bid though. Leverkusen Sporting Director, former German international Rudi Voller, told German paper Bild:

“There was an official request from Dortmund few days ago, but it was instantly rejected. Selling Karim is not an option for us at Leverkusen. He is definitely staying, he is not for sale.”

STOKE CITY have decided to wait in their pursuit for Axel Witsel, a wise choice given the better options he has available to him.

WATFORD - Italian reports suggest the Hornets have made a move for Tottenham Hotspur target Franco Vazquez, along with Real Betis, Sevilla, WBA, AC Milan to name a few. The interesting part though is that they expect a transfer to go through for about £12.51-million (€15m - AUS$22.38m - US$16.47m), somewhat of a difference from the Palermo presidents inflated valuation given the 27-year-olds (28 next January) age.

SOUTHAMPTON - Saints eyes are on Northern Ireland goalkeeper Michael McGovern. The 32-year-old is available on a free transfer after his contract with Hamilton Academicals came to an end. The south coast club see the keeper, who has spent his whole career in Scottish football, as number two to Fraser Forster.

JUVENTUS - AC Milan, Inter, Liverpool, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund have all been eyeing 21-year-old Croatian winger Marko Pjaca. Juventus have made contact with his agent and Dynamo Zagreb to look into a potential move.

STOKE CITY - Fair play to Mark Hughes at Stoke City, he is having a fair old go at improving the club, improving the style of play and looking to kick the club on. They are offering £16.4-million
      (€19.68m - AUS$29.34m - US$21.58m) for striker Saido Berahino whereas WBA are asking a crazy £18-million (€21.6m - AUS$32.20m - US$23.68m).

Anyone asking why we are not interested only have to look at the price for a player with one year left on his contract who hasn't really tried for a year. He is worth about two thirds of the asking price.

BREAKING NEWS - Shock news from Lionel Messi: "I retire from international football." Chile beat Argentina on penalties again to retain the Copa America. Erik Lamela came on as a substitute.

LIVERPOOL - A deal has been done with Southampton for Sadio Mane according to reports. The clubs are said to have agreed a fee of £32-million (€38.40m - AUS$57.25m - US$42.20m) for the 24-year-old Senegalese international.

OFFICIAL - As reported previously Breel Embolo joins German side Schalke, primarily because he will be the number one striker and thus get the game time to improve his game. Manchester United couldn't offer that and nor could we. He has signed a 5-year deal.

SUNDERLAND - The Black cats have offered Roma £13.33-million (€16m - AUS$23.94m - US$17.58m) for 30-year-old Eden Dzeko. Their primary competition is from Inter Milan.
