The three we want to buy

Number one target Alvaro Morata looks to be unobtainable for us and the timescale might be wrong as well with the Real Madrid buy-back clause not running out until 15 July.

The second choice looks to be Michy Bayshuayi who, as we all know by now, has to be sold by 30 June to bring money into a financially stricken Marseille by 30 June. That makes him the most likely signing, we'll know in the next 11 days. terms with the player were agreed weeks ago, he has turned down other clubs and the feeling among agents is that he wants to join Tottenham.

Of course, the price of a player has to be right and if for any reason we were not to get Batshuayi then we would need contingency plans, Vincent Janssen is perhaps that contingency and our third choice. He is cheaper than Batshuayi, comes from a lower league but is displaying plenty of potential, and he clearly knows where the goal is.

He and his representatives have been to meet us, spending a day discovering what our plans were for him. Reports following the meeting talked of Janssen being happy with the amount of game time opportunity he would get given the number of competitions to playing and that he was not frightened of a scrap for a place with Harry Kane.

It seems logical that he is waiting on the results of our Michy Batshuayi negotiations with Marseille to decide his future. In the meantime, he talks to other clubs to see what his options are.

They look to be our main targets for the striking berth this window.
