Spurs scouting 19yo centre-back

I'm not one who places great faith in the Portuguese press, they seem to invent stories even more absurd than our own dodgy national press. people read transfer stories, they complain that there shouldn't be so many, yet they read them.

Newspapers know that so they invent and create stories all the time, building them into something they aren't which influences the gullible to actually believe they are true. Scouting a player is not an attempt to buy, unless you are a professional journalist, then it's a transfer story you can create, string out and end as you please, it's free future material.

The Portuguese press, in the shape of Lisbon-based daily sports newspaper the 'Record', Spurs are interested in 19-year-old (20 in 5 days) Stade Rennes centre-back Sega Coulibaly. Their story suggests he may be available on a free transfer.

The paper reports that Sporting have begun negotiations and that  clubs around Europe are scouting him, including Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli. Newcastle United are also known to have scouted the French Under-18 international who could also play for Mali.

Being out of contract in the summer, he will either renew with Rennes who are keen to keep him or sign for another club who would then have to pay the stipulated compensation fee for training him to date.
