Spurs interested in Bayern Munich midfielder

TRANSFER TALK

Fresh blood is needed to provide cover for Eric Dier and allow him to have some rest. Tom Carroll is not up to the task and taking Mousa Dembele away from the link role would weaken us in that area. The squad needs strengthening and we are scouring the world for players that will suit our system.

We have identified many in Germany, but bearing in mind the improvement of Dier having someone like Kramer doesn't look a viable option. We need a player we can rely on who is of good quality, an unsung hero if you like.

Sebastian Rode is a German defensive midfielder under contract tof Bayern Munich until 2018 and sponsored by Nike. He joined Bayern Munich in 2014 on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 25-year-old (26 in October) only managed 493 minutes for them, the equivalent to five and a half games. during which time he scored one goal and had two assists. Rode is unhappy with the game time he is getting report the German media and wants to leave the Bundesliga winners. The German press suggest Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfL Wolfsburg and Tottenham Hotspur have all made enquiries about his availability.

Having sat on the bench for so long Rode wants assurances over playing time, something difficult to specify.
