TRANSFER TALK

No Berardi for Spurs

The website of radio station talkSPORT seem to have caught up with what I have been saying since we were first linked with Domenico Berardi, he is going to Juventus.

Italians know when an Italian is going to Juventus, Paulo Dybala knew it, Simone Zaza knew it. If Juventus want an Italian player, they want to go there. They are almost certain to get a Serie A winners medal and have a good chance of picking up an Italian Cup as well.

In this instance, he was part-owned by Juventus who sold their percentage of him to Sassuolo for £7.79 million (€10m - US$11.37m - AUS$15.28m) as part of the Simone Zaza deal. In his contract though a 2-year buy-back clause was inserted as set transfer fees. he has progressed enough that Juventus are going to activate that clause.

There wee crazy stories previously that suggested we would pay nearly £10-million more than the Juventus buy-back clause which was never a realistic option.

Plenty of clubs want Simone Zaza, the reserve Juventus striker, but Juventus want to keep him, specially with the uncertainty over Alvaro Morata. He is another we looked at last summer.
