Jonathan De Bie on his way to Spurs

TRANSFER TALK

Jonathan De Bie on his way to Spurs

It is becoming increasingly clear and there is also ITK to suggest that Mauricio Pochettino is nt just concerned with building now but is concerned with building a conveyor belt of talent. It is believed that he wants Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm to work with a young keeper to become the future number one.

Neither Hugo Lloris, nor Michel Vorm is going anywhere. They have Like McGee to work with, but if we can find a suitable youngster this window they will have another youngster to help mould. We have been linked with several keepers, our scouts take in a lot of games in France, Belgium and Holland, particularly Rob Mackenzie, Head of Player ID .

We have Jan Vertonghem, Mousa Dembele, Nacer Chadli and Toby Alderweireld from Belgium at Tottenham and the Belgian press believe striker Michy Batshuayi has chosen Spurs.

We have been extensively scouting Jonathan De Bie who is a 16-year-old (17 next March) highly regarded goalkeeper who we have had on trial, as have Liverpool. He is a youth international and one of the top goalkeeping prospects in Belgium. He trains with the first-team keepers at KV Mechelen where he plays in the Under-17s and Under-19s.

His elder brother was asked about the Spurs link and told Neiuwsblad in March that his brother would probably soon be joining.

"The chances are that he will soon sign a contract with the Spurs."

Players at this age have one-year contracts and as you can tell from us releasing 4 youngsters, it is the time for new contracts. Reports in Belgium suggest Jonathan De Bie is to sign a contract with Spurs.
Clearly we have impressed the youngster not just with the facilities, but with our vision of his future.
