Inter want to swap Brozovic or Murillo for Lamela

Comical stories coming out of Italy, you can always rely on the Italians for a good laugh, a swap deal Lamela for Brozovic or Murillo.

Marcelo Brozovic is almost certain to stay in Italy. He is a Croatian who plays for Italian club Inter Milan, on loan from Dinamo Zagreb. I have gone into his ownership before and the deal Inter did with his cash-strapped club. It's Inter who are offering him, not Zagreb as he becomes an Inter player on 1 July. The 23-year-old (24 in November) is a central midfielder whose agent want a pay increase.

The story originates from Corriere del Sport but as Mauricio Pochettino has no intention of letting any player he wants leave, and none of them want to leave, there is little chance of a deal being done.

The second speculative player the Italian press have thrown at the story is Inter defender Jeison Murillo. He is a 24-year-old (25 next May) Colombian right-footed 1.83m (6' 0") tall centre-back.

The Italian paper suggests Tottenham want £25m for Lamela when in fact he isn't for sale, although I suppose everyone has their price. The word out of Tottenham though is that Pochettino wants him and he isn't going anywhere. Lamela has said himself he'll be at Tottenham next season.

Lamela is a first team regular so you would hardly swap him for a reserve centre-back to Alderweireld. That one can be ruled out totally and the same logic can probably be applied to Brozovic. Would he be a first choice, would you weaken one area to bring him in meaning you have to spend more to replace Lamela?

None of it sound plausible, just Italian hopefulness from the new Chinese owner at Inter. Lamela is on their wish list.
