Vestergaard not joining Tottenham

He is a giant of a centre-back currently with Werder Bremen but the media are suggesting that a transfer has been agreed. They are claiming the transfer is only a formality now: There is still a final fee to be agreed but that isn't expected to be a problem.

Werder Bremen have released their Sporting Director Thomas gauge so Borussia Mönchengladbach have had to wait said their Sporting Director Max Eberl.

"We have made him a deal, but he still has two-year contract.: We respect this, and it first has to be spoken in the coming days."

Werder Bremen have already appointed a new  Sporting Director, Frank Baumann and while talks between the two clubs had already taken place they have been put on hold while he gets his feet under the table.Eberl said they understood the reason.

It is thought the fee will be around £7.6 million (€10m - US$11.12m - AUS$15.47m). Wolfsburg paid just £1.9 million (€2.5m - US$2.78m - AUS$3.87m) for the 24-year-old from Hoffenheim in January last year.
