Spurs Want  Impressive PSG Youngster

Spurs want impressive PSG youngster

As you would expect clubs are interested in youngsters from the top clubs, we are interested in players from top clubs and other clubs are interested in our players. It is a mark of how successful a tea is that other clubs want their players.

The UK national press are reporting one such player that we are interested in Jonathan Ikone of French champions SG. Manchester City, Liverpool and Juventus are just three of the clubs said to be chasing the youngster.

PSG have a problem, the same problem Manchester City and Chelsea have had. With mega rich owners, they can not afford to give youth its chance, their owners demand instant and continued success, so they have to rely on proven players. Hardly any players come through the ranks at these clubs. The youngsters who go there learn a trade ad have to leave to get any first-team football.

We have tried to grab several youngsters from PSG, Adrien Rabiot is one that springs immediately to mind, he would have joined us on loan but for Laurent Blanc making sure we had to wait until the end of the transfer window by which time it was really too late. He has had to try and keep unhappy players happy, not an easy task when they are not playing football.

Jonathan Ikone has caught the eye of many clubs. The 18-year-old (19 next May) has been contacted, through his entourage, by Juventus (reported by L'Equipe), Manchester City, Liverpool and Spurs.  he is a fast wide man with technical ability who the French press are suggesting could be available for £1.18 million ( 1.5m EUR).

Attention has been raised not just because of his performances but because he is yet to agree on a new deal with his club. he shone in the recent UEFA Youth League Final against Chelsea where he was watched by numerous scouts.

PSG don't like letting their youngsters go, but neither do they play them so the player and his agent will have to decide his future direction.
