Pochettino to make changes

Mauricio Pochettino is professional in his interactions with the press so gives little away. he is also honest with them. If Tottenham have been poor mentally he'll say so and after the Newcastle game he apologised and suggested the performance simply wasn't good enough, some players had already gone on holiday.

"It’s important to analyse the goals, the formation of the squad and make some decisions.”
Just as Pochettino had to learn how to juggle the Europa League and the Premier League, he now has to learn how to juggle theChampions League and the Premier League. We can not simply play Kane, Eriksen, Dembele, Alderweireld and Dier every game so rotation will be a bigger issue next season.

There is also the fact that Pochettino felt let down by the players, their performances at the end of the season were simply unacceptable, they gave up and after the Newcastle game he gave them a rocket. Some players will be leaving as a result. It is imperative for Pochettino that he can trust his players, some blew that belief out of the water and it may cost them.

Fans talk of Pritchard and other youngsters but they are unproven and the standard of games we will be playing and the standard to which we will be expecting our team to play at, makes introducing them more difficult. They will also perhaps have to perform at a higher personal level than they would normally do. We can't afford to drop points while we 'train in play' players to perform to the level we want them to.

Tom Carroll did nothing to suggest he should be given a new contract, h kept passing to the opposition from inside our own half whenever he played against when he replaced Mason, we conceded three goals against a ten man relegated side. It is hard to make a case for him, he isn't Champions League standard and he doesn't look top four standard.

We are endeavouring to get some business done early before the European Championships make it impossible for a month. As a result there are plenty of stories around at the moment.
